In Dec 2023, AAIA and UNESCO ICHEI started a partnership
In December 2023, the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Society (AAIA) and the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education entered into a strategic cooperation at the ‘Transforming Higher Education in the Age of AI’ International Institute of Online Education (IIOE) Global Partners Summit, aiming to carry out in-depth cooperation in strengthening AI higher education, exploring new systems, opportunities and challenges in AI higher education, cultivating AI talents and promoting international exchanges. The two sides will continue to strengthen their relationship with the global network of higher education partners, promote cooperation on projects of public interest in higher education, and carry out AI courses and certifications as well as organize international conferences and forums related to AI higher education.
At this summit, former Assistant Director-General for Priority Africa and External Relations of UNESCO, and the UNESCO-ICHEI Special Advisor for Global Strategy, Mr. Firmin Edouard Matoko; Director of UNESCO IITE, Mr. Zhan Tao; Director of the Innovation Center of UNESCO IITE, and Vice-President of the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), Prof. Jin Li; and Secretary General of Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA), Prof. Lei Qiujiang, with many experts, all attended this summit.
