Call For 2026 AAIS Fellow Nomination

The International Academy of Artificial Intelligence Sciences (AAIS) which was formerly known as the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA) which was founded in 2021 and has earned a high reputation globally by bringing together outstanding representatives from both academia and industry worldwide. 


AAIS aims to serve as the academic cornerstone and intellectual engine for the global AI community. It not only focuses on cutting-edge technological breakthroughs but also emphasizes the exchange of knowledge and educational development in artificial intelligence, leading innovation in AI research and education. AAIS now has 2460 Fellows and 250,000 members, among whom there are 2 Nobel Prize winners, 3 ACM Turing Award winners, 31 Members of the US National Academy of Sciences, 94 Members of the US National Academy of Engineering, 46 Fellows of the UK Royal Academy of Engineering, 34 Fellows of the UK Royal Society, 18 Members of the German National Academy of Sciences, 18 Members of the German National Academy of Science and Engineering, 12 Members of the French Academy of Sciences, 23 Members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 25 Members of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 33 Members of the Engineering Academy of Japan, 15 Fellows of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea, 25 Fellows of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology, 10 Fellows of the Australian Academy of Science, 12 Fellows of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, 33 Fellows of the Royal Society of Canada, 76 Fellows of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, 15 Members of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, 227 Members of Academia Europaea (Academy of Europe), 1651 IEEE Fellows, 263 ACM Fellows, 112 AAAI Fellows, 85 EurAI Fellows, 148 IAPR Fellows, 24 ACL Fellows, and 18 INNS Fellows, etc.

AAIS Fellow Nomination Review Details 


The the International Academy of Artificial Intelligence Sciences (AAIS) invites nominations for 2026 Fellowship. Fellows will be selected across academic disciplines with focus on artificial intelligence core areas (e.g., machine learning, computer vision, NLP, robotics, AI ethics) and interdisciplinary fields (e.g., AI+biology, AI+energy). 


I. Core Selection Criteria 

1. Academic Innovation Original contributions in theories, algorithms or models (e.g., seminal publications in top-tier, highly cited work, or widely adopted open-source tools). 

2. Technological Breakthroughs Development of industry-influencing technologies (e.g., patents, frameworks, systems) or leadership in AI projects at prominent institutions/enterprises.

3. Application and Social Impact Demonstrated impact on societal challenges (e.g., climate change, public health) or contributions to AI ethics/safety standards. 

4. Education and Communication Significant efforts in AI education (e.g., textbooks, courses, public engagement) with quantifiable reach (e.g., student numbers, course coverage). 


II. Nomination Process 

1. Eligible Nominators 

Current AAIS Fellows, Professors, academic society committees, or recognized institutions. 

2. Required Materials 

(1)Nomination letter (highlighting key contributions). 

(2)Candidate CV (emphasizing key achievements). 

(3)1-3 recommendation letters (PDF format from AAIS Fellows, professors, academic society committees, or recognized institutions). 

(4)Evidence of impact (e.g., awards, patents, media coverage, etc). 

3. Review Stages 

(1)Preliminary review. AAIS/Technical Council screens submissions. 

(2)Final review. AAIS Fellow Evaluation Committee review. 

(3)Announcement. The final list will be published in December 2026. 


III. Evaluation Considerations 

1. Timeliness Recent (≤10 years) high-impact works prioritized. 

2. Interdisciplinary Integration Cross-domain contributions (e.g., AI for Science) encouraged.

3. Ethic Declare societal outcomes (e.g., bias, privacy). 

4. Industrial Weight Commercial applications valued alongside academic work. 


IV. Special Provisions 

1. Fast Track Paradigm-shifting achievements may expedite review.

2. Exclusions Candidates with misconduct, ethics violations, or abuse records are ineligible.

3. Diversity Strong encouragement for nominees from developing regions and women.

4. Number The number of fellows elected in 2026 will be less than 300. 


V. Guidelines 

1. Highly competitive process; emphasize unique strengths in submissions. 

2. Materials must be concise, evidence-based, and avoid generality.
